Tim Tszyu Chases Erislandy Lara For December

“We sat down with the workforce, spoke about totally different choices, and to turn out to be a two-time world champion is a part of the plans. That’s what I’m chasing, in opposition to a man known as Lara,” stated Tszyu to Information.com.au.

“The boys at No Restrict Boxing and PBC are actual tight. So we’re in a position to make these fights occur and produce him over to Australia. That’s what we’re hoping for.”

Lara carries a recognizable identify and a world title, however that is one other rigorously chosen older opponent for Tszyu. The Cuban champion is 43 and has been out of the ring for practically two years. His final combat was a ninth-round stoppage of Danny Garcia in September 2024.

Tszyu not too long ago defeated a 36-year-old Spence, who returned after three years of inactivity and retired instantly afterward. Now Tszyu is chasing a champion seven years older than Spence.

That doesn’t make Lara innocent. Even at his age, he stays a pointy southpaw with wonderful timing and sufficient energy to punish careless stress. He stopped Michael Zerafa with a clear left hand in two rounds and has gained seven consecutive fights.

Lara’s legs are now not what they have been throughout his greatest years, although, and that’s probably a part of Tszyu’s attraction to the combat. Tszyu would have a youthful engine, house assist and the stress type wanted to drive Lara to work each minute.

Beating Lara would place one other belt round Tszyu’s waist, however it could not show he’s one of the best middleweight. It will present that his handlers perceive the worth of discovering well-known champions on the proper stage of their careers. After Spence, Lara suits that technique virtually completely.
