Oleksandr Usyk Has Named Who He Will Face Next After Beating All Heavyweight Challengers

Oleksandr Usyk cemented himself as the greatest heavyweight of his generation after defeating Tyson Fury for the second time last month.

The 38-year-old from Ukraine was tasked with defending his WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles against ‘The Gypsy King’ for the second time on December 21, just seven months after their iconic first meeting at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

Much like their first meeting, it was a really cagey affair that could have gone in favour of either man, but it was Usyk who was given the nod after all three judges scored it 116-112, which left Fury visibly distraught and wondering why he did not get his hand raised in victory.

‘The Gypsy King’ announced his retirement from the sport earlier this week, which came as a shock to fans around the world. The 36-year-old was linked with an all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua, which now looks to be dead in the water.

Usyk appears to have confirmed his intention to continue his career, setting his sights on making even more history for himself by pushing to become undisputed heavyweight champion once again.

Speaking to media earlier this week, legendary promoter Frank Warren revealed that Usyk has spoken to him and mapped out his plan for the next 12-months.

“Oleksandr told me at the weekend he will fight the winner of Daniel v Joseph Parker to try to become undisputed heavyweight champion a second time.”

The Ukrainian will be eagerly awaiting the result of Daniel Dubois vs. Joseph Parker next month, which could pave the way to him capturing undisputed glory for the second time. Dubois makes the second defence of his IBF heavyweight crown against Parker on February 22, on the undercard of the huge undisputed light heavyweight championship showdown between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
