SANTA YNEZ, California —Armenian welterweight Gor Yeritsyan disposed of Luis Hernandez Ramos of Chihuahua, Mexico in two rounds on Saturday at Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.

The Freddie Roach trained Yeritsyan, 20-1 (16 KOs), connected with a one-two combination and followed it up with a series of punches to drop Ramos, 23-7 (20 KOs). The Mexican beat the count but Yeritsyan attacked and finished off Ramos as referee Rudy Barragan stepped in to stop the fight at 2:11 of round two.

Maywood, California’s minimumweight Guadalupe Medina won a unanimous decision over Agustina Vasquez of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Displaying good footwork, Medina, 9-0, (2 KOs), boxed well, using the jab effectively. Mixing it up, Medina and the Argentine Olympian Vasquez, 4-3-2, exchanged and fought at a fast pace. Medina controlled the fight as Vasquez lurked for most of the fight and was countered in the process.

After completing eight rounds, all three judges scored the bout 79-73, as Medina remains undefeated.

Super featherweight Abel Mejia of Orange, California won a hard-fought unanimous decision over Alfredo Diaz Minjarez from Nayarit, Mexico.

Mejia, 6-0 (5 KOs) was efficient throughout the fight, connecting with solid shots. Late in the fourth round, Mejia dropped Minjarez, 9-12 (8 KOs), with a left hook. Minjarez beat the count and was saved by the bell. Asserting control throughout the fight, Mejia outworked Minjarez en route to the decision win.

All three judges scored the bout 60-53.

In the opening bout, lightweight Alan Garcia of Ulysses, Kansas cruised his way to a decision over Juan Centeno of Watsonville, California.

Garcia, 15-1 (11 KOs), returned with a victory after suffering a knockout, his first defeat, in his last fight. It was all Garcia as he dominated Centeno, 8-19-4 (1KO), in working his way to a unanimous decision victory.

All three judges scored the fight 60-54.
