Another Zag will be playing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas as well as the Utah Summer League. Jeremy Jones was named to the Memphis Grizzlies’ roster along with former Zag Efton Reid III before he transferred to Wake Forest.
A pair of Washington State alums are also listed, Cedric Coward and Jaylen Wells. Coward will be out with a shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined since late November.
Jones was the Houston Rockets’ G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, during the 2024-25 campaign. The 6-7 forward averaged 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 assists in 34 games played.
Before making his way to the G-League, Jones played professionally in Austria, Germany, and Japan. He was a member of the 2017 Final Four squad with Gonzaga. The true-born athlete caught the attention of the Zags’ coaching staff when he was on Rice’s football team as a redshirt quarterback, along with hooping for the Owls in the 2014-15 school year.
The Utah Summer League is a three-day event on July 5th, 7th, and 8th. The NBA 2K26 Las Vegas Summer League officially starts on July 10th with the championship game on July 20th.
As for the other Zags in the popular showcase in Sin City, Ben Gregg will be playing with the Boston Celtics, Khalif Battle with the Phoenix Suns, and Ryan Nembhard, along with Nolan Hickman, will be teaming up in the backcourt once again with the Dallas Mavericks. Most likely, Anton Watson will be with the New York Knicks, but the full roster hasn’t been released yet.
