Kelly Olynyk was a part of the Washington Wizards organization for just a bit over two weeks. The 6-11 forward/center is now on his way to his eighth NBA team and his fourth since 2024.

Olynyk will be teaming up with Victor Webanyama and the young gun Spurs, a team with high hopes to be the next up-and-coming franchise, just like Chet Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder currently are. Despite having a “minimally invasive” surgery on his left heel back at the end of April, he should be expected back by the time training camp comes around in the fall.
In his 12th NBA season spent with the Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans, Olynyk averaged 8.7 points on a 50.0 field goal percentage. 41.8 three-point percentage and 76.9 free throw percentage. He also chipped in 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists through 44 games played.
No official word yet if the Washington Wizards will continue to make more moves, specifically, try to deal wing Corey Kispert. Rumors have been circulating for a couple of years now that he could be shipped off elsewhere. A large number of conversations between general managers and front offices from all the different organizations happen during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which starts on June 10th.
In his fourth NBA season, Kispert was contributing 11.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 60 games played. Throughout his career, the sharpshooter has been consistent when getting to his marks (47.4 field goal percentage, 38.3 three-point percentage, 80.5 free throw percentage).
