Manchester City are reportedly ready to send two of its young talents, Vitor Reis and Claudio Echeverri, on loan for this upcoming season. The City are keen on getting both players on loan to their partner club, Girona, to gain more playing time.
Man City to Loan Out Reis and Echeverry
Pep Guardiola’s team are keen on bouncing back this season after such a disappointing trophyless season last term. However, it appears that they will be doing it without the contributions of two young talents, Vitor Reis and Claudio Echeverri.
Although both Reis and Echeverri are relatively new arrivals at the club, with the Brazilian arriving in January 2025 while the Argentinian joined up a month later. The two were part of Man City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, but it looks like they won’t be part of the squad in the upcoming season.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Man City want both Reis and Echeverri to link up at Girona for a one-year dry loan. At the moment, the Brazilian has agreed with the move, while his teammate is still negotiating.
Football-Italia reports that AS Roma are also keen on acquiring Echeverri on loan, but with a buy-out option added. However, Man City seem more keen on just loaning out the Argentinian to get playing time and not losing him.
It remains to be seen whether the decision to let those two 19-year-olds is the right decision for Guardiola’s side. Nevertheless, the Spanish tactician did want a smaller squad size to manage, so that’s probably the main reason behind City’s plan to send Reis and Echeverri on loan.
