Two women have been arrested following the death of a college football player in California.
San Jose, California police announced this weekend that two women have been arrested in connection to the killing of a college football player. Raymond Orozco, 22, was killed in a stabbing death in July. He was a local community college football player.
Orozco was reportedly killed on July 20, 2025, at approximately 12:51 a.m. Police had responded to a stabbing call near 90 South 2nd Street in San Jose. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a report, two women have been arrested following the death of the college football player.

Mercedes Rosales, 20, was arrested on Wednesday for the murder of Raymond Orozco, 22, which occurred on July 20, 2025, at approximately 12:51 a.m.
Police said they responded to a report of a stabbing near 90 South 2nd Street.
Officers found Orozco suffering from a stab wound and attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a media release, Rosales fled before police arrived.
Micaela Van, 18, was later identified as a suspect in the case and was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder, police said.
