Herly Brutus, the No. 77 recruit in the class of 2026, will be officially visiting Gonzaga the weekend of Kraziness in the Kennel starting on October 3rd. The four-star 6-5 forward plays for Villages Charter in Florida. He will be in attendance alongside four-star 6-11 center Sam Funches from Germantown in Mississippi, the No. 81 recruit in the same class rankings. Sources told On3’s Jaime Shaw that the fit with the Zags, coach Mark Few’s style of play with bigs, and track record at Gonzaga are intriguing for Funches.
Brutus also has trips set to both Saint Louis on August 28th-30th and nearby Florida State on September 19th-21st. When checking out his highlights, the immediate standout of Brutus’ game is the ability to guard multiple positions thanks to his length and how he can stretch out the floor from deep beyond the arc.
Few and his staff have been throwing their pitch at two of the elite names in all of high school basketball, and reportedly have unspecified dates set for official visits for each. Five-star 6-7 forward Tyran Stokes from Notre-Dam Sherman Oaks in California is the best overall prospect in the nation. On top of it, five-star 6-8 forward Baba Oladotun from James Hubert Blake in Maryland was originally the best player in the 2027 class, and out of thin air, he reclassified to the 2026 class. He’s now ranked as the No. 6 player amongst his new peers.
Who knows, these two might surprise everyone and be spotted in the crowd at Kraziness in the Kennel. Gonzaga would be lucky to have either one. It’s a matter of who is willing to sign the highest amount on the paycheck with these two prospects currently available for the 2026-27 campaign. Many different suitors are throwing their hats into the ring at each recruit’s parties.
In other 2026 recruiting news, four-star 6-5 wing Luca Foster from Link Academy in Utah has listed the Zags in his top 12 schools. The other 11 include Villanova, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Virginia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Oregon.
The No. 34 recruit will take official visits to Pennsylvania on August 29th, Norman on September 6th, Ann Arbor on September 13th, Washington D.C. on September 20th, Columbus on September 27th, Charlottesville on October 4th, and Spokane on October 11th. Trips to Pittsburgh and Eugene are still in the works for Foster.
Additionally, four-star 6-8 forward Ethan Harris, from nearby Camas in Washington, will travel up to Spokane starting on August 29th. The race for the No. 240 recruit in the Class of 2026 looks to be between the Zags and Washington, just a matter of who wants him more from the Pacific Northwest.
All rankings are according to Rivals.
