Pacific Northwest natives can rejoice as Gonzaga and Oregon have set up a neutral-site game at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on December 21st, right before Christmas, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. The time and ticket sales will be announced later. According to Oregon Live’s James Crepea, the Big Ten Conference owns the television broadcast rights, meaning that it would be either on FOX or FS1.
The Zags’ all-time record against coach Mark Few’s alma mater is 4-19. Gonzaga did have the last laugh as they beat Oregon in the 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals in the Bahamas, 73-72 in overtime. Filip Petrusev finished with a double-double (22 points, 15 rebounds) in the victory.
This was surprising scheduling news on what looks like the final non-conference matchup to be announced for the Zags. Instead of going for one final buy opportunity or tune-up, Few continues to show that he has never been afraid to go up against the best programs across college basketball.
