The brackets for the WCC Women’s Basketball Conference Tournament are out so let’s look at how this will pan out:
On Gonzaga’s side of the bracket, we have #4 Oregon State, #5 USF, #8 Santa Clara, and #9 LMU. The other half of the tournament starts later today with #11 San Diego and #10 Pepperdine kicking things off, but GU’s side will wait to start on Friday.
It’s a tough draw for the Zags given that Oregon State and USF both defeated Gonzaga in the regular season. That’s not to say Washington State or St. Mary’s wouldn’t be slouch opponents, but, it would have been nicer to see the Bulldogs not have to face off against either of those two teams before the Championship.
Gonzaga’s first match will take place on Monday, March 10th, at 12pm PST against the winner of Game-6. Should the Bulldogs win, they’ll advance to the Championship that’s set to start 1pm PST and will be featured on ESPN2.
