Draymond Green fires back at Alperen Sengun after his comments on the Warriors vs Rockets series, ‘You have to…’

Draymond Green and Alperen Sengun battled it out against each other in the Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets first round playoff series last season.

Although the Golden State Warriors managed to secure a win after a grueling seven game series, the performance displayed by the Houston Rockets was commendable.

Alperen Sengun was one of the key players on the Rockets, while Draymond Green, who is a four-time NBA champion, starred for the Dubs.

Sengun had a monstrous dunk over Green in Game 1 of the series, while the Warriors player held his own against Sengun in Game 3 to help his side take a 2-1 lead.

Almost three months since the series, the two players seem to have taken their rivalry online after Green replied to Sengun’s recent remarks about the physicality in the matchup during the playoffs.

Green fires shots back at Sengun

The Turkish national recently appeared in an interview and was asked about his first playoff appearance against the Warriors.

Sengun shared his thoughts and stated that the Warriors were ‘crying’ about the fouls in the series.

The 23-year-old said: “The Warriors were probably the one team that would have given us the most trouble, and we drew them,” Sengun said. “They’re a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot. In the playoffs, they don’t call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called.”

He also made some other comments about his career and how exciting it was to be teammates with Kevin Durant.

But Draymond Green replied to the comments on the Warriors vs Rockets series saying: “That’s a tough thing to say after you lose… You have to win to [say] stuff like that.”

Warriors vs Rockets is going to be an intense matchup next season

The Rockets have made some big offseason moves that have pushed them into being one of the contenders to win the NBA championship next season.

Adding Durant certainly gives them a huge boost, but they also have the likes of Amen Thompson, Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., and Dorian Finney-Smith, who are all valuable players who bring important aspects of the game to the team.

Meanwhile, the Warriors will always be a team to watch out for, with Steph Curry leading the way.

They completely turned things around after bringing in Jimmy Butler last season, and even though they have not made any moves in the offseason, the Dubs are going to be a tricky team to beat.

The seven-game series was physical and saw both teams play brilliant basketball on both ends of the floor.

There has been some social media back-and-forth, but when it comes time to get back on the court, some high-octane basketball can be expected, especially now with Durant having made the switch to the Rockets.
