The Toronto Raptors won’t be at full strength as they try to extend their win streak to four straight on Saturday.
Walter, 20, is averaging 7.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 44 games this season. The rookie started the first game of the Raptors’ weekend back-to-back set Friday against the Utah Jazz, but he left after 18 minutes with what the team originally listed as a quad strain. It’s unclear when the injury occurred.
Quickley, 25, is averaging 17.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 38.2 per cent from distance through 24 appearances this year. In the team’s latest victory against Utah, he finished with a Raptors’ career-high 34 points to go with five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Barnes, 23, is averaging 19.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks through 49 games played this season. The one-time All-Star racked up 22 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, two steals and three blocks against the Jazz.
Meanwhile, the Raptors will also be without Ochai Agbaji (ankle sprain), Gradey Dick (bone bruise), Brandon Ingram (ankle sprain), Jonathan Mogbo (nasal fracture) and Ulrich Chomche (MCL tear).
Toronto will get some reinforcements, however, as starters RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl will return to the lineup after being given the night off for rest on Friday. Chris Boucher (wisdom tooth extraction), who missed Friday’s game as well, is listed as questionable.
Washington could be down a couple of players as well. Jordan Poole (elbow contusion), the Wizards’ leading scorer, is questionable, as is Richaun Holmes (knee contusion). Malcolm Brogdon (ankle sprain), Sadiq Bey (ACL tear) and Colby Jones (Achilles) are out.
