Tyler Herro posts message to Miami Heat fans from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery, warns NBA

The Miami Heat will be shorthanded to begin the 2025-26 NBA season after Tyler Herro underwent ankle surgery.

Herro was dealing with foot and ankle pain throughout the summer and ultimately decided to have surgery before the start of the season.

Miami’s star guard will now be sidelined for at least eight weeks, meaning he won’t be back until mid-November.

The Heat open their training camp on September 30 and begin regular-season play on October 22 against the Orlando Magic.

Tyler Herro motivated to ‘tear the league back down’ once he returns

Herro is coming off the best season of his career so far.

The 25-year-old averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds in 77 games. He shot 47.2 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three-point range.

He made the All-Star team for the first time and he also won the league’s three-point contest at All-Star weekend.

Herro isn’t going to let this surgery set him back. He posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed on his Instagram story and wrote “imma tear the league back down once I get off this weak a_ _ bed.”

The Miami Heat are looking to be competitive in the Eastern Conference

With Herro coming off his best season and Bam Adebayo in his prime, the Heat aren’t looking to just roll over.

Many thought Miami would rebuild after trading away Jimmy Butler, but instead, the Heat have put together a roster that not only builds for the future but can compete right now.

The Heat’s trade for Norman Powell reassures fans that they are still pushing toward a playoff spot.

After an embarrassing first-round playoff loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, the Heat are looking to bounce back and prove people wrong this season.
