The Braves were dealt another injury blow on Monday night as second baseman Ozzie Albies broke the hamate bone in his left hand. It was the same hand and wrist that he broke during the 2024 season.
While the recovery time for a hamate bone fracture is just 6-8 weeks, there is a history of the injury impacting hitters well beyond that. We will have to see how long it takes for Ozzie to return to form in 2026 (assuming he’s on the team), but it’s another dark cloud for a player who missed significant time over the years due to a plethora of ailments.
