Liverpool have booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, beating Southampton in the third, perhaps less convincingly than their fans would’ve liked.
When it comes to the Reds’ new strikers, there were mixed feelings after the match. Alexander Isak scored the opening goal, his first in a Liverpool shirt.

But Hugo Ekitike, who scored the winner later on, took his shirt off in celebration while on a yellow card already. He will now be suspended for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Speaking to the press after the game, manager Arne Slot agreed that the actions of the France international were ‘needless and stupid’.
