It’s rare that one of these Game Threads leads with news of a pen activation, but really that’s entirely the Dodgers problem at the moment, as they would be on one hell of a run to close the season if the pen would stop blowing 3-5 run leads.

Speaking of, Roki Sasaki was activated and Kirby Yates was put on the IL to save him the embarrassment of being DFA’d, I guess.
The Dodgers have activated RHP Roki Sasaki from the injured list and placed RHP Kirby Yates on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, backdated to September 21.

Clayton Kershaw is also available out of the pen today.
Dave Roberts said Clayton Kershaw is available for one inning tonight.
“I have no hesitation pitching him in any situation tonight.”

And Brock Stewart … doesn’t seem healthy, honestly.
Brock Stewart threw a bullpen session today in front of team trainers & GM Brandon Gomes again
Dave Roberts said Stewart is “pitchable” but still working thru “residual soreness” in shoulder. He remains day-to-day, but Roberts said it’s possible he’s activated before end of week
