Blackburn Rovers boss Valérien Ismaël believes his side should be awarded three points after their Championship clash with Ipswich Town was abandoned due to heavy rain 🌧️.
⏱️ What Happened?
Blackburn were 1-0 up thanks to a Todd Cantwell penalty in the second half.
Ipswich were down to 10 men after Jacob Greaves was sent off.
With just 10 minutes left to play, the pitch became waterlogged and referee Steve Martin had no choice but to call the game off.

“We’ve got the right to want the three points because it’s the fair thing to do, especially when the opponent is down to 10.”
“Eleven versus 11 is another situation. We were clearly at an advantage.”
He admitted the referee’s call was final: “I never agreed to stop the game. The pitch was unplayable and the decision was already made.”
On the rules: “It’s a grey area that puts football’s integrity in danger. This case will set a precedent.” ⚖️
🏛️ What Happens Next?
Both clubs have until Wednesday 16:00 BST to submit their arguments.
The EFL board will then meet and make a ruling before the end of the week.
