At this point last year, Jake Mangum had just completed his second full season in Triple-A. The switch-hitting excellent defending outfielder had been one of the Durham Bulls top hitters but never received the call to the big leagues. However, the Rays did add him to the 40-man roster in November, so the dream was still alive.
Fast forward to Opening Day and Josh Lowe gets hurt, and Jake Mangum gets called up and proves to be an integral part of the Rays roster for the better part of the 2025 season and is now making a serious bid to finish the season hitting over .300.
Mangum did what he could in Baltimore, hitting .333/.333/.583 over 12 trips to the plate, launching his 3rd homerun of the season.
His success in Baltimore lifted his season numbers to .299/.332/.372 with just three games remaining.
Will Mangum be able to reach the .300 milestone?
