Amorim also stressed how important it is to be focused for the entire 90 minutes, plus stoppage time, against the Black Cats, in a bid to ensure a positive frame of mind heading into another international break.
“It’s really important [to start well],” he said. “But what is more important is to understand the game has 90 minutes, it has different moments. That is the thing we need to learn.
“Sometimes, we start really well. Sometimes, we have a problem that we had at Brentford, every time we suffer a goal, we lose a little bit our organisation. So, in the end, of course it’s really important to start well but it’s important to play the game 90 minutes and we can create situations. So we just need to give time to the team to win games.
