Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is reportedly on the brink of adding its first elite defensive back in the cycle, as Rivals/On3 recruiting analysts Steve Wiltfong and Adam Gorney have logged their “expert” predictions for the Aggies to land four-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, who is coming off his recent visit to College Station during Texas A&M’s 31-9 win over Mississippi, a game in which the defense dominated.
Dorsey, who is already several games into his junior season in Hampton, Georgia, is also considering Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, and Ohio State. Still, his strong relationship with head coach Mike Elko and his staff, like many of his fellow prospects, has become the No. 1 selling point, and one of the primary reasons he could end up committing to Texas A&M.
“They just stand out from all perspectives.”
Over the last two weeks, Texas A&M has received predictions to land 2027 five-star cornerback John Meredith and four-star running back Landis Williams-Callis, and if Dorsey chooses the Aggies, both Wiltfong and Gorney believe Texas A&M will contend for the No. 1-ranked 2027 class, which would be the first top finish since the memorable 2022 cycle.
On Thursday, Dorsey announced his commitment date, set for Saturday, November 1, coinciding with Texas A&M’s second bye week of the season.
According to Rivals, Kamarui Dorsey is currently positioned as the 46th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 5th-ranked safety, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
