Toronto Raptors fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see their first-round pick in action.
Rookie forward Collin Murray-Boyles has been ruled out of Friday’s home-opener against the Milwaukee Bucks as he continues to deal with a forearm injury, head coach Darko Rajakovic announced ahead of tip-off.
Rajakovic added that second-year wing Ja’Kobe Walter will be making his season debut after missing the season-opener against the Atlanta Hawks with an illness.
Murray-Boyles suffered the injury in pre-season and missed the final exhibition game against the Sacramento Kings last Friday. According to Rajakovic, he is “progressing well.”
The South Carolina product averaged 6.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in three pre-season contests. Against the Sacramento Kings on Oct. 8, Murray-Boyles scored 12 points, pulled down seven boards, recorded six assists and blocked two shots.
Walter, meanwhile, suited up in 52 games during his rookie season, averaging 8.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 34.9 per cent from three-point range. He averaged 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 18.7 minutes over six pre-season games.
