Competition: Ligue 1

Market: Mason Greenwood to score anytime

Odds: 6/5 @ BetUS

Desperately seeking a much-welcomed Ligue 1 boost on Wednesday night, Marseille will welcome Angers to the Stade Velodrome.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a collapse away at Lens over the weekend as they eventually fell to a 2-1 loss, Marseille are seeking an immediate response here. Likewise, watching their five-match winning run come to an abrupt end earlier in the month as they slumped to another 2-1 loss against Sporting Lisbon while in Champions League action, Roberto De Zerbi’s side have suffered consecutive defeats for the first time since opening up the 2025/26 campaign. However, marking their return from October’s international break with a dramatic 6-2 victory against Le Havre, the former Brighton boss is still dreaming of the chance to mount a genuine Ligue 1 title charge this season. Although Marseille might have continued to show some extended defensive issues, Wednesday’s hosts have continued to shine with their extended success on home soil. Signing off September with a dominant 4-0 romp against Dutch heavyweights Ajax, De Zerbi’s side have won all of their first five showdowns at the Stade Velodrome by an aggregate score of 20-4.

As for the visitors, managing to claim an essential boost over the weekend as they secured a 2-0 victory at home against Lorient, Angers will be desperate to use that gritty performance as a platform to build on. However, heading into October’s fortnight interval with a 5-0 drumming away at Strasbourg, Alexandre Dujeux’s side are still at the heart of a relegation scrap. Getting Wednesday’s showdown underway holding just a one-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone, Les Scoistes have mustered just a single victory from any of their previous eight Ligue 1 showdowns – a run that stems all the way back to the opening weekend. Pencilled in as a landslide underdog when they travel to the Stade Velodrome here, Angers have continued to show some glaring issues on the road. Along with mustering just a single point from their first four matchups away from the Stade Raymond Kopa, Dujeux’s camp have also registered just a sole Ligue 1 win on their travels since the middle of February.

Bet: Mason Greenwood to score anytime against Angers 6/5 for Wednesday’s Ligue 1 matchup @ BetUS
