The Duke Blue Devils and Connecticut Huskies played a thrilling game Saturday afternoon. No, it wasn’t on the hardwood, but rather on the gridiron at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.
UConn headed into Saturday’s contest as a 7 1/2-point underdog, but thanks to star quarterback Joe Fagnano, the Huskies were able to come away with one of their biggest wins in recent memory.
A 37-34 win over the Blue Devils was headlined by 313 passing yards and three touchdowns from Fagnano. Through 10 games, Fagnano has now accounted for 25 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions. Wide receiver Skylar Bell finished with 11 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns. He now has 13 receiving touchdowns this season, the most in FBS.
UConn, Joe Fagnano pull off the shocker
Fagnano is the only qualified passer in FBS with zero interceptions this far into the season. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is the next closest with just one.
