Former Princeton forward Caden Pierce is taking an official visit to Purdue this weekend and also plans on checking out UConn, Duke, Louisville, and Gonzaga in the coming weeks. He also visited Grand Canyon last weekend.
As a freshman with the Tigers in 2022-23, Pierce averaged 8.2 points on a 42.6 field goal percentage, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game on his way to winning the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.
In the 2023 NCAA Tournament, Pierce hit two clutch free throws and had a team-leading eight rebounds in an upset victory for No. 15-seeded Princeton over No. 2-seeded Arizona.
In 2023-24 as a sophomore, he won the Ivy League Player of the Year after putting together 16.6 points on 54.6 shooting from the field, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
Pierce was teammates with Gonzaga’s Braden Huff at Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where they won the 2022 Class 4A IHSA State Championship together. That should definitely play a factor in his upcoming college decision.
The now senior entered the transfer portal during the spring and will be redshirting during the 2025-26 season after starting in 89 of 90 career games played. Fun fact: his brother is Alec Pierce, wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts.
