December 7th: Sunday’s European Double – 8/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

While we might only have a couple of Premier League showdowns pencilled in on Sunday afternoon, we have plenty of action from across the continent.

Alongside a stacked schedule from the likes of La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga, plenty of English clubs will be looking to extend on their respective FA Cup adventures.

Ahead of a frantic afternoon of European action, we have taken a glance at some of Sunday’s most attractive betting tips.

14:00 Cagliari vs Roma

Eventually falling to a 1-0 loss at home against historic foes Napoli last weekend, Roma will be desperately searching for an immediate response here. Nevertheless, remarkably sat within touching distance of top spot, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have received plenty of plaudits from across the continent. Getting their charge for a Europa League knockout stage ticket back on track last month as they secured a 2-1 victory at home against Midtjylland, the former Atalanta boss has seen his squad win each of their other four appearances across all competitions. Marking their return from November’s international break with a 3-1 romp away at relegation scrappers Cremonese, Roma should be smelling a golden opportunity here. Pencilled in as a standout contender, it should also be highlighted that Gasperini’s men have continued to shine on their travels. Including a 2-0 victory against Scottish heavyweights Rangers on November 6th, the Wolves have won seven of their first eight showdowns away from the Stadio Olimpico across all formats.

Watching their Coppa Italia adventure come to an end earlier in the week as they suffered penalty shootout heartbreak away at reigning Serie A champions Napoli, Cagliari are enduring what has been an extended rut. Despite hanging onto their top-flight status last season, the Islanders have a real battle on their hands this time around. Signing off November with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Italian giants Juventus, Fabio Pisacane’s side have now failed to win any of their previous 10 appearances across all competitions – a rut that stems all the way back to September 23rd. With their nightmare run of form underlined by a 2-1 defeat at home against Sassuolo on October 30th, Cagliari will be bracing themselves for another stern examination here. Getting Sunday’s fixtures underway holding just a one-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, it should also be highlighted that Pisacane’s downbeat squad have mustered just one-point from any of their previous four Serie A showdowns at the Unipol Domus.

Cagliari vs Roma Betting Tip: Alessandro Deiola to be shown a card @ 10/3 with Pribet

15:30 Gateshead vs Walsall

Although Walsall might have endured play-off heartbreak last season, the Saddlers haven’t shown any signs of a hangover this time around. Last seen extending on their EFL Trophy adventure as they clinched a 2-1 victory away at Stevenage, Mat Sadler’s men find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Signing off November with a routine 3-1 win at home against Bromley, the Midlands-based outfit have won all of their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 7-2. With the mood around the Bescot Stadium at a real high, Sunday’s guests are rightfully pencilled in as a standout contender here. Likewise, securing a thrilling 4-2 victory away at Newport last month, Walsall have won six of their previous seven outings – a purple patch that stems all the way back to October 25th. Continuing to shine with their performances in the final third, the Reds have also gained a reputation for their success on the road. In fact, Sadler’s side have won all of their last four straight showdowns outside of the Midlands by an aggregate score of 10-3.

While some in Gateshead’s camp might have opened up the 2025/26 campaign with their sights set on mounting another genuine play-off charge, the Tynesides have endured a public National League nightmare. Last seen signing off November with a rollercoaster 4-2 defeat at the hands of Sutton, Alun Armstrong’s men are at the heart of a relegation scrap and have rightfully come under a huge amount of scrutiny. Watching their National League Cup adventure come to a thumping end last month as they fell to a 3-0 loss at home against Leeds’ U21s, the former Darlington boss has seen his struggling squad lose all of their previous six consecutive appearances across all competitions. With their woeful rut underlined by a 4-0 drumming against York City on November 5th, it is no surprise that Gateshead have gained a reputation for their glaring defensive struggles. In fact, Sunday’s hosts have shipped 19 goals on their six-match losing rut. Likewise, the Whites have lost all of their last three straight showdowns on Tyneside by an aggregate score of 8-0.
