Eddie Hearn Says Joshua Will Ice Jake Paul In 1–2 Rounds

Eddie Hearn is painting a picture of Anthony Joshua icing Jake Paul in a “round or two” on Friday night. In his vision thing, he foresees Joshua emerging as the “hottest property in boxing” after the victory.

Hearn’s prophecy of not only a fast KO victory, but Joshua’s stock going through the roof afterward, sounds hard to believe. Fans view this as a gimme, a money grab by Joshua to do a pseudo-reset of his career.

It’s essential that the former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua looks like a priceless diamond inside the ring against the former YouTuber Paul this Friday on Netflix. He’s facing a guy with only 13 fights under his belt, who lost to Tommy Fury two years ago.

“The plan is on Friday night to exit with a sack full of money with the hottest property in boxing,” said promoter Eddie Hearn, the InsideRingShow about Joshua’s fight against Jake Paul.

There’s no question that Joshua will make a bundle of money from this fight. His estimated purse for the Jake Paul fight is $92 million. Let that sink in. As Hearn points out, it’s nearly identical to the money he’ll get for his fight against Tyson Fury in 2026.

“More importantly, geared up with that new team to attack the heavyweight division in 2026,” said Hearn.

Eddie is getting a little carried away here. The only fight mentioned for Joshua next year is the clash against Fury. Those two are expected to fight in the summer. Whether there will be a rematch is still unclear. There’s been no discussion about AJ fighting any of the young talents in the division.

“If we can go in there on Friday night and ice this guy clinically in a round or two and come out looking like this beat Adonis in front of the whole world, our stock is going to go through the roof,” said Hearn.

Joshua’s popularity will rise just because of the attention his fight with Jake Paul will receive on social media. Many people who follow Paul on social media but aren’t boxing fans will be seeing Joshua for the first time. If he looks outstanding, he can win them over to make them want to see him fight in the future. That’ll help make his fight with Fury even bigger next year.
