Recent Auburn signee Bear McWhorter is picking up another award following a stellar high school football season in Georgia. On Tuesday, McWhorter was named to the Touchdown Club of Atlanta 2025 First Team All-State team.
McWhorter is a three-star offensive lineman that the Tigers signed to their 2026 recruiting class. He was originally signed to the Michigan Wolverines but he switched to Auburn after the dismissal of Sherone Moore with the Wolverines. According to 247Sports, McWhorter is the No. 164 player from the state of Georgia. He signed with Michigan on December 3rd, but decommitted on December 12th.

He added to a 2026 recruiting class for Auburn that is ranked No. 36 with 19 players signed. McWhorter is one of five offensive lineman that Auburn signed in the class. He played high school football at Cass High School in White, Georgia. They went 9-3 during the 2025 season and were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs. The offensive line is a position where the Tigers do need to improve. Auburn as a team gave up 42 sacks last season, and an improved offensive line will add to the running game in 2026. The Tigers are sure to take a look at the transfer portal for more offensive line depth.
