Bekhzod Usmonov (11-5 MMA, 2-1 bare knuckle) and family were seriously injured in what has been described as a “horrific car accident” while traveling over the holidays.
According to a GoFundMe started by coach Michael Winkeljohn of the famed Jackson Wink MMA Gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Usmonov and his wife Victoria, and his little son Maximus, were all badly injured.
“Little Max just turned 1 year old and underwent surgery for a badly broken arm and bad lacerations on his little face, among other things,” Winkeljohn wrote in the fundraiser. “Victoria is undergoing major surgeries for a badly broken back, severe leg injury, and other bad injuries. She is in really bad shape. Bek has many injuries, but he is refusing to get treated at the moment as he is trying to focus on little Max and his wife. Victoria just got a new job, and Bekhzod hasn’t fought in a while, waiting on a new fight contract, which he will not be able to train for and compete in. This is a major financial strain on the family, and we are asking for your support.”
Bekhzod Usmonov competed on the Ultimate Fighter Season 32 and most recently recorded a first-round finish of Keith Richardson at a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship event earlier this year.
