Kansas Jayhawks head coach Bill Self may not be coaching on Tuesday as his No. 19-ranked team takes on the Colorado Buffaloes.
The Jayhawks announced on Monday that Self was taken to the hospital after not feeling well.
“Kansas men’s basketball coach Bill Self felt under the weather earlier today and, out of an abundance of caution, was taken to LMH Health and received IV fluids. He is feeling better but did not accompany the team to Boulder,” the school wrote in a statement.
Self is 63 years old and has been coaching Kansas since 2003. He’s a two-time NCAA Tournament champion as well as a two-time AP Coach of the Year.
It’s unclear at this time if Self will eventually make his way to Colorado to coach his team on Tuesday or if he’ll stay back. After Colorado, Kansas has an away game at Kansas State on Jan. 24.
