Any occasion where LeBron James returns to Cleveland won’t go by unnoticed. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer started his decades-plus long journey in The Land, bringing nothing but trophies to his hometown team. That said, the Cleveland faithful welcomes LeBron with open arms any time he returns as a visiting player, and with just a handful of appearances left to in the tank, he made sure to bring a stunner on feet.
As a nod to his former team, the Nike Basketball team colored up the LeBron 23 in a blue, orange, and white colorway as a nod to the franchise’s throwback colors. That same mix was made famous by the LeBron 7, the signature shoe from 2009 that look enhanced wearing those vintage colors. It debuted on Cleveland’s Hardwood Classic night for which the players left the wine and gold in the locker room in favor of those throwbacks.
This PE stands out even more for its mis-matched color-blocking, the 23 medallion coin at the heel, and speckles on the Swoosh — all familiar details of those epic PEs of the past.
