The Ole Miss Rebels aren’t done fighting for quarterback Trinidad Chambliss’ eligibility to play in the 2026 season.
As of right now, he’s not going to be able to play, at least according to the NCAA.
Earlier this month, the NCAA denied an appeal from Chambliss and Ole Miss to grant him a sixth year of eligibility. His claim is that he had an incapacitating injury in 2022 while playing at Ferris State.
The NCAA is citing a lack of proper medical documentation.

Over the weekend, Chambliss’ legal representation filed a formal response to the NCAA, disputing its claim. Now, a few days later, the university is getting into the action.
This is according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo.
“Ole Miss today filed to the NCAA a *reconsideration* over the denial of QB Trinidad Chambliss’ eligibility waiver and appeal, Dellenger wrote on X. “The reconsideration method is available for schools and players who have new information or evidence related to the case.”
