Just days after a 92-90 overtime thriller over Illinois on Tuesday, the Badgers delivered an even more emphatic statement, earning a nation-leading third top-10 win of the season that includes a victory over No. 2 Michigan on Jan. 10. It was also head coach Greg Gard’s 18th top-10 win, tying for the most in school history.
Wisconsin set the tone early and never let up, building a 51-34 halftime lead before pouring it on in the second half.Â
Nicholas Boyd led the Badgers with 29 points while John Blackwell added 24 point of his own, including a flurry of second-half buckets that helped Wisconsin stretch the margin beyond 20.
The seven-footer Nolan Winters also had his 12th double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Badgers were lethal from beyond the arc, knocking down 15 threes on a 43% clip compared to the Spartansâ 29.6%.
