Kane distances himself from Barcelona transfer rumors

As FC Barcelona move closer to their presidential elections, the race has shifted into full campaign mode, with contenders unveiling ambitious projects and eye-catching pledges. However, many of the headline proposals have raised doubts, particularly in light of the club’s well-documented financial constraints.

Among the hopefuls, Xavi Vilajoana has made one of the boldest claims yet — stating that he intends to bring Harry Kane to Camp Nou if elected.

Vilajoana’s transfer pledge

While Victor Font continues to build part of his platform around the idea of a possible return for Lionel Messi, Vilajoana has instead focused on the prospect of landing Bayern Munich’s star striker.

Earlier this week, Vilajoana revealed that preliminary steps had already been taken regarding Kane. Although he clarified that he had not personally initiated contact, he claimed individuals involved in his proposed leadership team had begun exploring the possibility.

Kane Responds to Speculation

Speaking to Sky Sport Germany through Mundo Deportivo after Bayern Munich defeated Eintracht Frankfurt, Kane addressed the comments directly.

The England captain dismissed any awareness of the reported interest. He explained that his father and brother handle discussions concerning potential transfers and stated that neither had informed him of any approach linked to Barcelona.

Focused on Bayern’s project

Kane reiterated his satisfaction in Germany, stressing that his attention remains firmly on his current campaign and long-term journey with Bayern Munich. He made it clear that a switch to Barcelona is not something occupying his thoughts.

Describing the situation as flattering, the striker nonetheless distanced himself from the narrative entirely. His public denial is likely to complicate Vilajoana’s campaign messaging, especially given how challenging any deal would already appear considering Kane’s contentment at Bayern and the stability of the German club’s sporting plan.
