Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his revamped coaching staff have been on a short break during the recruiting dead period, but have made significant progress with several priority prospects in the 2027 cycle, including one of the top linebacker prospects, who will make his way to College Station this spring. On Monday, Rivals recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong reflected that progress with a prediction.

Going into Florida with clear intentions to land a commitment from four-star lineabcker Kaden Henderson, Wiltfong stated in a recent update that he has input his prediction for the Aggies to secure Henderson’s commitment in the coming months. Fellow Rivals insider Chad Simmons revealed that Ohio State and Texas A&M are the top two programs Henderson will consider, while Florida State, Florida, Alabama, and the Miami Hurricanes are also teams slightly in the mix.

Set to lose assumed starting linebackers Daymion Sanford and transfer Ray Coney after the 2026 season, sophomore Noah Mikhail will be one of the lone returnees, and while Elko will likely add one or two linebackers from the transfer portal, Henderson would provide immediate depth in 2027.

“It’s the Aggies with the edge at this point in the cycle with Chad Simmons reporting over the weekend that Ohio State is in the top two.

Henderson has locked in his summer official to Texas A&M and he’ll also be there in the spring. I’ve logged an RPM pick to reflect the current pulse.

Fresh off an appearance in the national title game, Miami has been making a move. Florida State was Henderson’s dream school at one point and several others, including Alabama and Florida, work to remain in the picture.”

The Aggies are also leading for five-star interior offensive lineman Albert Simien and four-star (Rivals) offensive tackle Kennedy Brown, who will both make their way to College Station in late May and early June. Texas A&M is still in great shape to finish as the No. 1 ranking when it’s all said and done.
