Chicago Blackhawks trade candidates
Scott Powers of The Athletic: The two most likely trade candidates for the Chicago Blackawks are defenseman Connor Murphy and forward Jason Dickinson. A source thinks if there’s some demand for Murphy, they might be able to get a second or third-round pick for him. Dickinson would be less than that.
Pending UFA forward Ilya Mikheyev is another trade candidate, but it’s possible that they look to re-sign him. It’s unlikely that they move Nick Foligno, Matt Grzelcyk or anyone else.
The Blackhawks would like to get prospect Anton Frondell (Djurgarden Sweden) over when his season is done. Sacha Boisvert (Boston University) is a candidate to go pro.
NHL Rumors: Chicago Blackhawks – Deadline to the Draft to Training Camp Battles
Quick hits on the Kings, Maple Leafs, Flames, Senators, Panthers, and Jets
Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet: Sellers right now – Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Rangers.
A few games to determine their fate – Nashville Predators, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers, and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Keep an eye on the Los Angeles Kings and Elias Pettersson. They need scoring and a center to fill the loss of Anze Kopitar for next season. A more long-term fit than the older Ryan O’Reilly or Vincent Trocheck. The Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes are two others to watch with regards to Pettersson.
The next three games for the Toronto Maple Leafs could determine the fate of Bobby McMann and others.
The Calgary Flames aren’t interested in a fire sale. Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri could be moved. MacKenzie Weegar‘s no-trade clause turns to a 10-team no-trade list next year. The Red Wings and Senators are looking for a top-four right-handed defenseman.
NHL Rumors: Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and the Ottawa Senators
The Senators could go cheaper than Weegar and look at Rasmus Ristolainen or Justin Faulk.
Don’t believe the Florida Panthers and Sergei Bobrovsky have talked about a contract extension. The feeling is they may not be on the same page on what his next contract should look like. Would they consider trading him? He’s got a 16-team no-trade list.
Teams are calling the Winnipeg Jets about defenseman Logan Stanley and forward Cole Perfetti. Perfetti is two years away from being a UFA. Is he part of their long-term future and worth a big extension?
