The Professional Fighters League announced that they have parted ways with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou after just one fight with the promotion.

Ngannou departed the UFC to join PFL in 2023 with a game-changing contract. He was chairman of PFL Africa, won a PFL SuperFights Title in 2024.

“The Professional Fighters League has made the decision to part ways with Francis Ngannou. We have great respect for Francis as both an athlete and a person, and we wish him success in the next chapter of his combat sports career. The PFL remains focused on recruiting and signing the best athletes in the sport while continuing to deliver world-class competition for fans around the globe.”
Three years ago the PFL signed Ngannou to a deal to compete in the promotion’s newly formed “PPV Super Fight Division.” Before Ngannou even competed with the promotion however, he competed twice in boxing with losses to Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. He would finally make his lone PFL appearance in October 2024 defeating Renan Ferreira in the first round.
