United have won six of out last eight league matches, including eye-catching victories over Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, while also picking up wins against Fulham, Everton and Crystal Palace. A draw away to West Ham United and a narrow defeat at Newcastle United are the only dropped points during the run.
United have scored 15 goals across those eight matches – averaging close to two per game – while Old Trafford has once again become a difficult venue for visiting teams.
Historically, this fixture has strongly favoured United. Across 201 meetings in all competitions, the Reds have won the vast majority of encounters, 107 to be exact, in comparison to Villa’s 52. In the Premier League, Villa have managed just six victories in 61 meetings. United have also been particularly dominant at Old Trafford, where our attacking record against Villa has regularly delivered goals and results.
That said, Villa arrive with ambitions of their own. They remain firmly in the mix for European qualification and have shown they can produce decisive moments, particularly on the counterattack. However, recent results have highlighted some inconsistencies, with defeats and defensive issues interrupting their momentum.
