Laurence Heinen: Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary left in the first period after going into the boards headfirst after being hooked and pushed by Panthers A.J. Greer.
“He’s moving around,” Flames coach Ryan Huska said of Zary after the game. “He’s fine and all that stuff, but I don’t really have a real indication of what it is yet.”
Bruce Miles: Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Mangiapane and defenseman Louis Crevier suffered injuries on Thursday, missed last night’s game and likely Sunday’s.

NHL Rumors: Predators, Blue Jackets, and Panthers, and the Rangers
Tracey Myers: Bednar yesterday before their game on Landeskog: “(Landeskog) seems to be doing really well. Connor seems to be doing really well. They’re all making progress, but we’ll just check in with the medical staff and the player, make a plan for the day and then see what the next day looks like.
“We could hear at any moment that they’re ready to go, it just won’t be tonight.”
Laurence Heinen: Florida Panthers Niko Mikkola left last night’s game in the first period after taking a knee-on-knee hit. He needed help off the ice and couldn’t put much weight on his left leg.
NHL: Los Angeles Kings forward Joel Armia returned to the lineup after missing 10 games with a back injury.
Jessi Pierce: Minnesota Wild forwards Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov won’t be in the lineup today and are day-to-day. Coach Jon Hynes: “We want to make sure when they come back, which is in the near future, that that they’re ready to go, and we’ve given them the right time.”
Kevin Kurz: Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier is dealing with an upper-body injury, and they’re uncertain how long he’ll be out, but it’s not expected to be long-term.
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Sam Girard could return to the lineup tonight.
Sheng Peng: San Jose Sharks forwards Tyler Toffoli and Igor Chernyshov, defenseman Vincent Desharnais and goaltender Jaroslav Askarov weren’t on the ice for practice. Forward Ty Dellandrea was in a no-contact jersey.
NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs, Flyers, Wild, Hurricanes, Sabres, Penguins, and Canadiens
David Alter: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies has been playing through a knee injury, and if there has been any thought of being shut down.
“It’s kind of an injury that I don’t think it could get much worse. So I don’t think that there’s any risk for me playing. It’s obviously not comfortable playing through it, but everyone’s playing through something, I feel like, at this time of year. So that’s not really an excuse. But, if it’s not going to get worse, then there’s no problem with me playing, then I’m going to play.”
Mark Masters: Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly was back on the ice yesterday after missing Thursday with an illness.
