The Nebraska football spring game was held on Saturday, and there were several notable performances. One of them came from quarterback Anthony Colandrea, who had a stellar day in his debut.
The UNLV transfer went 12 of 19, soaring for 80 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback also showed his skill set on the ground, carrying the ball three times for 21 yards.

It was a solid debut for the quarterback, as he looks to build off his Mountain West Player of the Year performance last season. The St. Petersburg, Florida, native finished the 2025 season throwing for 3,459 yards, 23 touchdowns, and nine interceptions with a 65.9 completion percentage.
Colandrea’s touchdown throws went to Jacory Barney and Quinn Clark. Those two receivers also had standout days, as Barney led the game with six catches for 43 yards. Clark had the touchdown catch for 8 yards in what was a big day for him as well.
Overall, the new Husker showed that he has the skills to be the top quarterback this season. He showed a strong arm and agility. Of course, the real test will take place during the regular season. However, it was a solid start for a team looking to reset its offensive identity.
