The Big 12 Conference is losing one of its big men. Colorado forward Bangot Dak is planning to enter the transfer portal, according to On3. Dak finished the season with 11.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and 1.6 blocks per game for the Buffaloes this season.
Dak scored double-digits in six of his final seven games of the season, including 22 points against both Utah and Oklahoma State in two of his final three games of the season. The junior from Lincoln, Nebraska has continued to develop in Boulder. As a freshman, he played in 23 games and averaged 1.7 points per game, followed by 8.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last season, before nearly averaging a double-double this season.
But this is tough for Tad Boyle, who is trying to make Colorado competitive in the Big 12, and losing a player like Dak is exactly the hard part of today’s era of college basketball with NIL and the transfer portal. Colorado went 7-11 in the Big 12, and 17-15 overall this season.
Colorado is still playing the Crown Championship this week when they will take on Oklahoma on Wednesday on FOX Sports 1. Tip off is set for 7:00.
