Jaden McDaniels was listed as week-to-week with a left knee patella tendinopathy and a bone bruise, the team announced Monday.
McDaniels missed Saturday’s 109-87 loss against the Detroit Pistons after he was forced to leave the Timberwolves’ 110-108 overtime victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday with just 68 seconds left to play in regulation.
The Timberwolves were already dealing with injury woes with star guard Anthony Edwards missing six games with a right knee injury.
Minnesota (45-29) is tied with Houston for the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference, two games back of the No. 4 Denver Nuggets.
Through 71 games this season, McDaniels was averaging 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game to go along with one block and a 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 51.8 per cent from the floor and 42.1 per cent from three-point range.
One of the NBA’s premier perimeter defenders, McDaniels was named an NBA All-Defensive Second Team selection in 2024.
