Texas A&M’s eighth spring practice on Saturday afternoon also served as another opportunity for coach Mike Elko and his staff to host a long list of 2027 and 2028 prospects, who were able to watch the current 2026 roster go through various drills, and for third-year O-line coach Adam Cushing, this will by far be his most challenging offseason after four 2026 offensive line starters departed for the 2026 NFL Draft.
In the 2027 cycle, Texas A&M has already landed commitments from four-star offensive linemen DeMarrion Johnson and Kaeden Scott, and continues to trend in a positive direction for several blue-chip O-linemen, including four-star Gilmer (TX) OL Ismael Camara, who made his way back to College Station for an unofficial visit this weekend.

Right now, Texas A&M and the Texas Longhorns are considered the undisputed leaders in Camara’s recruitment, while Alabama, LSU, and Oregon, who have also consistently sent offensive linemen to the NFL, are also in the mix, but according to AggieYell insider Jaxson Callaway, Adam Cushing’s tight bond with the versatile blocker should pay dividends, despite his upcoming visit with the Longhorns next weekend.
“Camara is expected to visit Texas early next week, according to our friend Justin Wells at Inside Texas, before shifting his focus toward official visits. A summer decision timeline remains the expectation. Regardless of who’s in the boat by then and how the Aggies are trending for others, Camara will be a surefire take. That’s one of a few prospects along the offensive line this class we’d classify as a “class jewel.”
Widely considered an athletic “freak,” due to his functional movement skills, Camara stands at 6’6″ and nearly 350 pounds, and can play multiple positions across the offensive line, and is already considered an elite run blocker at this stage. Camara will take an official visit to College Station on May 29.
According to Rivals, Ismael Camara is the 36th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 4th-ranked interior offensive lineman, and the 5th-ranked prospect in Texas.
