There has recently been much speculation about the future of Enzo Fernandez and his potential departure from Chelsea, with the Argentine midfielder openly speaking about Real Madrid.
The best proof that the situation is rather serious is the confirmation of Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior that Fernandez was left out of Chelsea’s FA Cup thrashing of Port Vale a few days ago, as well as the upcoming Premier League blockbuster against Manchester City.
“A line was crossed,” Rosenior said.
And according to reports in Spain (via Goal.com), the 25-year-old won’t stop there with his efforts to force a way out of the club. He is currently preparing to hand in a transfer request, demanding to be allowed to move to Madrid.
The main obstacle for the transfer to happen is expected to be the transfer fee Chelsea would demand to let Fernandez go – apparently, around €150 million.
Chelsea certainly hold all the cards in this matter, with Fernandez under contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2032.
