The Kentucky Wildcats have picked up a very intriguing player in the transfer portal.
This is a big one for Mark Pope and the Wildcats, too, because there’s going to be a ton of pressure on Kentucky to perform in 2026.
Pope is 46-26 in two seasons at Kentucky, but his team got bounced in the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past March. In 2025, Kentucky made it to the Sweet 16 before losing to Kentucky.
Perhaps the addition of transfer forward Justin McBride will help Kentucky get back to playing up to the championship expectations.
At the very least, McBride will be bringing some intriguing experience to the table for the Wildcats. He’s also coming off a breakout junior season with James Madison.
McBride committed to Kentucky on Tuesday via the transfer portal.
