The Gonzaga Bulldogs have landed a commitment from Rider Broncs sophomore guard Emmy Roach, according to her Instagram.
The Littlehampton, South Australia native averaged 6.6 points on 40.6 shooting from the field, 34.3 shooting from beyond the arc, and 70.8 shooting from the charity stripe. The six-footer also chipped in 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.0 blocks, and 1.0 assists per game in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Most importantly, Roach averaged just 1.2 turnovers across 19.2 minutes played in 56 games during her first two seasons. Gonzaga was disastrous when trying to take care of the ball in 2025-26, turning it over 17.3 times per contest (ranked tied for No. 250 in college basketball).
A solid increase to coach Lisa Fortier’s backcourt through the NCAA transfer portal, helping replace incoming sophomore guard Paige Lofing (transferred to the Big Sky Conference’s Montana Grizzlies) and senior guard Ines Bettencourt (graduated).
The Zags now have 12 of their 15 available roster/scholarship spots filled for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign. The 2026 high school recruiting class consists of only 6-1 forward Abby Lusk from Pocatello, Idaho.
