Charles Woodson Jr., the son of the 1997 Heisman Trophy winner and first-ballot NFL Hall of Famer, is following in his father’s footsteps to Michigan.
The 5-foot-10, 173-pound defensive back from Orlando (Fla.) Lake Nona High School committed to the Wolverines on Friday over offers from Florida State, Oregon, Kentucky and Texas A&M. Woodson produced 73 tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions and returned a kickoff and an interception for touchdowns during his junior season.
He recently shone in his team’s spring game, returning an interception for a touchdown. Woodson played in the Navy All-American Bowl in January.
He’s rated a three-star recruit by Rivals/On3 and 247Sports.
Michigan has landed 10 commitments in its 2027 recruiting class under new coach Kyle Whittingham. The class is ranked 19th by 247Sports and 13th by Rivals/On3.
