Run support is great, especially when the pitching is great. For Roki Sasaki, this was the best outing of his young MLB career and helped lead the Dodgers to a series sweep of the Angels in Anaheim.

And not just outstanding for him since we’ve all seen his struggles since coming to the majors, but outstanding for any pitcher. It was the first time he completed seven innings and it was the first time — as a starting pitcher — that he did not issue a walk.

Oh, and the offense showed up for the third time this weekend. It scored double-digit runs for the second consecutive game, led by Kyle Tucker‘s 3-hit, 3-RBI performance. Shohei Ohtani also logged three hits and a couple runs batted in. Since bottoming out with an 0-for-5 performance against the Giants on Monday, Ohtani is 8-for-17 and has seen his OPS climb from .767 to .829. We love small sample sizes! But really, it could mean Ohtani is about to take off.
Andy Pages chipped in two ribbies, while Hyeseong Kim was a bit of a sparkplug in the No. 9 spot. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Can’t ask for much more out of the bottom of the lineup.

With the win, the Dodgers improve to 29-18 on the season. The Angels fall to an MLB-worst 16-31. The Dodgers travel to San Diego for their first 2026 clash with the Padres. Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3-3, 3.60 ERA) takes on Michael King (3-2, 2.63). First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. Pacific time.
