6:58pm: It’s a major league deal, as manager Dave Roberts confirmed to Ardaya that Chayce McDermott will be optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. The Dodgers will need to open a spot on the 40-man roster, with Ben Casparius or Blake Snell candidates to move to the 60-day injured list.
6:28pm: The Dodgers are signing righty reliever Jonathan Hernández, reports Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. He was granted his release from a minor league contract with Philadelphia after triggering an opt-out over the weekend.
