While Championship Week has arrived across Division 1 college baseball, the Road to Omaha is already on for one New England program.
Top-seeded Yale swept through the Ivy League Tournament on its home field in New Haven, Conn., becoming the first team in the country to punch its NCAA tournament ticket. The Bulldogs could be joined by another local club by Wednesday, as Holy Cross competes for a second straight Patriot League title.
Beyond the Ivy and Patriot Leagues, six other conferences containing New England teams will contest their respective tournaments this week. UConn enters the postseason off clinching part of another Big East regular-season title. Half of the six-team America East bracket hails from our region.
