Everton are a side with plenty of ambitions this summer. David Moyes very nearly took the Toffees to European qualification last time out and bridging that gap simply has to be the goal in the coming months.
Rumours suggest that the Merseyside club are willing to spend, too. Names like Hayden Hackney are still threatening to steal the headlines and there’s no doubt that the Middlesbrough star is ready for the Premier League.

Everton are now lining up a move to sign a top-level attacker this summer.
Meanwhile, there could also be a return for some familiar faces. John Stones left Manchester City as a free agent at the end of the season and Everton are among his reported options.
It would be a full-circle moment for the England international, who first earned the interest of City during his rise at Everton all the way back in 2016.
Alas, it’s not just a centre-back that the Toffees have in their sights. They’re also after another right-back this summer following the retirement of Seamus Coleman. The veteran defender was a mainstay for over a decade and will be incredibly difficult to replace.
Whilst Jake O’Brien has filled in admirably in the last 12 months, Everton should be keen to play the centre-back in his natural role – something the arrival of a new right-back would provide.

Everton and Newcastle battling to sign defender
The Merseyside club have reportedly turned to France to solve their problem. According to TeamTalk, Everton have held talks to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon this summer, registering their interest.
The Ligue 1 side would prefer to keep the versatile defender, but there is an acceptance that they’d have to green-light any offers which reach a certain price – handing clubs a huge advantage.
The ex-Arsenal man is a wanted star this summer, too. It’s not just Everton who want to bring him back to the Premier League. Newcastle are also eyeing a move for Maitland-Niles and know that they’ll receive the green-light from Lyon on the condition that they submit a hefty offer.
Money should be no problem for the Magpies, who have already sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69m and have set an asking price of £100m for Sandro Tonali amid interest from Tottenham.
Whether either them or Everton turn their interest into an offer for Maitland-Niles remains to be seen, however.
